Link Exchange
Link Exchange
Link Exchange is just one of the many ways in which you can help to improve your website ranking. Like with any exchange system it’s really a very simple case of you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours, or rather - I’ll put your link onto my website, if you put my link onto yours. It’s a great idea but can be a very slow process if you take the rather tedious road of emailing web-masters and offering a link exchange, then waiting for them to reply, then waiting for your link to be activated on their website (even if you’ve had theirs on your website for ages!). You’ve got to keep going back and checking, it can all be extremely frustrating and rather tedious.
Link Exchange websites will help you to find suitable link partners, and although these are a terrific idea and some of them do work extremely well, you’ve also got to be a bit careful, especially with the free link exchange websites. Before you’ve taken the time to fill in your details and press send you could be bombarded with “relevant” link exchange requests, with anything from flower baskets to property for sale in St Lucia, even if your website is about ski equipment hire! Not really very relevant then are they?
Link Exchange websites seem to be cottoning on to the idea that some people really do want quality link exchanges and are prepared to pay for them. Some of them offer really advanced features so that you can actually screen which links you are and are not prepared to accept – if you are only interested in links from insurance sites with a Google page rank of maybe 3 or more, for example, you can set those parameters into your filters and stop the onslaught. Anybody who doesn’t fit the bill will be prevented from requesting a link exchange with you – mind you, you’ll probably have to pay for it, but good quality links are the best way to really improve your own google ranking, so you just have to weigh up and pros and cons and see whether it’s worth it to you – or whether you’ve got the spare time (and patience) to request link exchanges manually . . .
Link building is an important aspect of link exchange. Links really are an essential part of building a successful website, allowing users to flick around between websites, often without even knowing how they got there. Building a network of good quality links will also help to improve your rankings in the search engines, after all, we all want to be number one don’t we, or at least page one - that will do for starters. What are you waiting for, get building those links!
